You have a great night out. You drink, you dance, you connect. And the next morning, you wake up feeling fresh. Zero hangover. Zero regrets. Just good vibes. This is what the sober curious movement is all about!
2026 is seeing a real shift our relationship with drinking. We're realising that alcohol is no longer the most important guest at the party, and ditching the hangovers and hangxiety for feel-good fun.
From soft-clubbing to 7 am coffee raves and techno sauna sessions, we’re finding more ways to balance wellness with wildness, and what we're drinking is catching up.
What is the sober curious movement?
The sober-curious movement, or mindful drinking movement, is all about making conscious decisions about alcohol consumption. Instead of reaching for a drink just because, you actually decide whether the moment really calls for one.
But unlike the drinking vs sober divide of the past, the sober curious movement steers away from total abstinence towards making more intentional decisions about how and when to consume alcohol.
Mindful drinking is all about drinking smarter, not harder!
Here are two sober curious trends you might bump into at the bar.

Damp drinking
We’ve all heard of Dry January and Sober October, maybe you’ve even given it a go. But damp drinking is taking over the scene. Once you get past the name, the concept is pretty solid. It's drinking, just not as much. It swaps the one month off, 11 months on approach for a more permanent shift in your drinking habits.
Zebra striping
Zebra striping is the practice of alternating between alcoholic drinks and non-alcoholic alternatives throughout the night. One alcoholic drink, one non-alcoholic alternative. Sip. Switch. Rave. Repeat.
The benefits are pretty clear too. You can party longer and still wake up feeling human.
Drinking less doesn't mean drinking boring
We believe that coming together over a drink is still one of life’s great pleasures. It’s an opportunity to connect. A moment to pause and savour. And you should have a drink worthy of that.
Sugary, one-note fizzy drinks are out. Craft sodas complex enough to hold their own next to a glass of wine, whether that's at a 7am rave or a dinner party, are very much in.
Drinking on your own terms, also means choosing an alcohol-free alternative fitting of the occasion and that you actually enjoy. Luckily some of the most interesting drinks behind the bar right now are alcohol-free.
Fermented sodas for the sober curious

We might be a bit biased, but we think fermented sodas are the perfect sip for the sober-curious.
If you still need convincing, here are a few more reasons to make fermented soda your plus one.
Complex, botanical flavour profiles
good sodas ™ fermented craft sodas are built on intentionally curated botanical flavour profiles. This creates a complexity of taste that feels sophisticated enough to indulge in at a bar, at party, or with dinner. Without the overload of sugar, each sip brings a fresh hit of flavour, keeping things exciting from start to finish.
Fermented bite
Our LAB fermentation process produces a mild, natural acidity that gives each fermented soda a satisfying bite. And not just that. It reduces sugar content and enhances the nutritional profile. Nature doing what nature does best.
Certified organic ingredients
Each soda is crafted from real ingredients all certified organic because enjoying a soda doesn't have to be a guilty pleasure.
Perfect for pairing
Our fermentation produces a subtle acidity that complements the flavours in your food rather than competes. Our alcohol-free drinks are perfect for pairing with everything from a lazy brunch to a long dinner.
